Another HIPAA Dispute question

I submitted a follow up dispute to all three CRA's Certified Return Mail..I received the green cards however I also received a message from all three CRA's stating that they have added a security alert to my credit profile.....

Is this normal when going thruu the HIPAA dispute process? Is this a good or bad thing?

What do you mean by a security alert?

Re: Another HIPAA Dispute question

They say "Initial Fraud Alert requested by you or on your behalf"...The only thing I did recently was Opt out and submit my HIPAA dispute......I am not sure where the fraud alert came from.....How would a fraud alert affect applying for a house? Thye say the fraud alert is going to stay for 90days. Any information would be great

I'm not entirely sure, you might want to post your mortgage question in the mortgage forum.

Re: Another HIPAA Dispute question

Same thing just happened to me.  I have been following the HIPAA process and today a fraud alert is on my Experian and Equifax reports. These were for paid medical collections.

Are you working on other non-med baddies?

Re: Another HIPAA Dispute question

No, just the medical. They were paid medicals on the credit report.  I have been following the HIPAA process and was up to scenario #3 when I got hit with the fraud alert on Experian and Equifax.  Transunion has not done this.  It was only a week after sending the followup dispute to them so it must have been this that triggered it.  They haven't sent me anything yet. I saw it on the credit report (dated April 10th), so I am not sure if they mean I am calling the CA a fraudulent charge or if they mean I am somehow the fraudulent person.

Maybe it is a new tactic on their part?
