HELP!!!

When the 'date reported" on aPAID collection (before I knew any better) keeps changing.  Is this the process of updating the account....meaning does FICO see this as a new collection every month?  Eventhough it is the same exact information being reported just with a current "date reported"???

Re: HELP!!!

Although "updating" does NOT change the DOFD (date of first default), that being the date you received medical treatment, it can and usually does hurt your scores. Any CA doing this on paid med collections is sleazy!Smiley Mad Have you read the med collections & HIPAA letter process link in my sig line? Who is the CA? And, when were your treatment dates? Who did you pay, the OC or the CA?

Re: HELP!!!

The CA is Central Finance Control....(who actually called me today and left voicemail requsting a call back).

The reponsed to my HIPAA letter stating that they were a IN HOUSE CA for the owner of the hospital where I had services rendered.

FULL STORY:

I have 5 collections with them 3 for me and 2 for my son (car accident).

2 accounts = I paid (and this is reported) but they report them every single month there after (pd in Dec08)

3 accounts = the insurance denied due to error on their part (they have since contacted the OC to have the claims resubmitted for payment (does not make a difference since the OC is also the CA).

The things is that 3 fall of this year (but the inurance agency is paying so I guess they want fall off)

I have AWAKENED demons at Central Finance Control....PLEASE HELP ME!!

Re: HELP!!!

This so-called in house collector for the OC is known to make trouble. So, are all five med collections with these same clowns? If your insurance doesn't come thru, can you afford to pay these three unpaid collections in full, if you have to?

Re: HELP!!!

No I do nothave the funds but I kow for sure the insurance is going to pay.  The only reason they were denied the first time was because the date of coverage was entered in their computers incorrectly.

I was just listening to the voicemail the left today (after her letter ended with "Central Finance Control seriously considers any dispute and responds accordingly, it will not incur other wise unnecessary cost and expenses in responding to repetitive duplicate disputes. If you chose to merely continue to resend a duplicate of prior dispute, we will note that in our file but NOT respond to you."

It is the same lady who sent me letter back informing they were within their rights but, she left her message using another name for the CA.  I wonder if I went to far copying what she sent and what I sent to her and forwarding to VP and the Director of their Compliance department??

Re: HELP!!!

You started the HIPAA letter process already, did you do the following below? You say you sent the HIPAA letter to the CA, did you send this one HIPAA LETTER TO THE OC

1.) You must Opt Out of two things: Your Credit Reports and All Creditors. The first one ensures that the CRAs will not sell your personal data to anyone else (haha…no more data mining). The second one will prevent JDBs (and CAs) from buying and selling bogus collections.

Use this link to opt-out of your credit reports

OPT-OUT CREDIT REPORTS (or call 1.888.567.8688)

Use this link to opt-out from all of your CURRENT creditors that you're in GOOD standing with. Do not attempt to opt-out with any CAs or current creditors that you're in BAD standing with (i.e. charge-offs, or currently late).

OPT-OUT ALL CREDITORS

2.) Also, be sure to update your personal information with the CRA's before attempting to reestablish your credit.

3.) Send the pre-HIPAA dispute letter to the CRA ('s) CM (no RR, this is the only letter in the HIPAA process where you will not send it CMRRR) and wait up to 35 days for the results of the their investigation(s). Be sure to handwrite this letter (and the envelop too) using personalized stationary and teal blue ink. If your med collection is deleted, you're finished.

Re: HELP!!!

The first letter that is ALWAYS written in the HIPAA letter proces is this one

PRE-HIPAA MEDICAL DISPUTE LETTER

I wouldn't do anything with your 5 collections until your 3 unpaid collections are paid by your insurance. Once this happens, post back in this thread, and we'll go from there. BTW, did someone advice you to send the HIPAA letter to the OC instead beginning with the pre-HIPAA letter to the CRAs?

Re: HELP!!!

Thanks for the response.  I will wait for the insurance company to complete their half, however; I am nervous, confused and frustrated now because of the following reasons:

1. Central Finance will continue to update mean while

2. I am unsure why they are now calling me

3. when the insurance pays the accounts (all 3) are re-aged!!!

***In all honestly I can not recall anyway giving me advise on leaving the first step out of the HIPAA process.  I think doing this was soley because I miss understood the process in the beginning.

Thanks for the advice.
