Re: HIPAA -- Frivolous dipute!!! Help

Because this is regarding HIPAA...I am unsure of what to direct you to do.

I did however edit your post to include "HIPAA" in the subject line so that one of the resident HIPAA experts will notice it and chime in.

Re: HIPAA -- Frivolous dipute!!! Help

You "might" be ready to file a HIPAA complaint against the OC. Before I can advise this, I need to know all of the letters you wrote, to whom and when. Did you keep copies of all correspondence and green cards? Please include any letters that you wrote that were not part of the HIPAA letter process, if any.

Re: HIPAA -- Frivolous dipute!!! Help

I did step #1 opt out-----all the way to step 3, pre hipaa medical  dispute to CRA—

It came back in Dec 08 with updated info verified---

After that time, the collection agency sent me a letter stating the hospital would consider a payment of 3400 as paid in full, and would also update my CRA as paid—

In Feb I sent Scenario #1 hipaa letter, with restrict endorsement cashiers check  to Hospital CMRR not the collection agecny… note: this collection agency is a inhouse

Collection agency, but check was not sent to there address, but to the billing office for the Hospital.

Waited for them to cash the check- 1 week later check was cashed

Sent  follow dispute letter 2 to the cra—equ and tu---Tu sent me letter yesterday

Saying that this company has previoulsy already verified and that they will not reinvestigate. This letter to them was hand written--

Re: HIPAA -- Frivolous dipute!!! Help

Do you have anything in writing from the OC that says you owe $0.? Also, how much did you pay?

Re: HIPAA -- Frivolous dipute!!! Help

The original amount was 5109----The agreeded to take 3,400$---The accepted it, and its cashed---

I have not received any form of reciept from them----

The only letter I got that shows that 3400 would be payment in full if i paid before a certain dat March9 (and i did), came from the in house collection agency, that has  both there offical letter head, including the hospitals offical letter head at the top....
