You can get your EQ report for free at annualcreditreport if you haven't done so in the last 12 months. Otherwise, you have to pay.

Re: Hospital Medical All Together In 1 Entry On Report-Hit Report & Caused 65 Point Loss

Also, which doesn't make any sense is that through myfico it says that the hospital is reporting 120 day late status which caused the score to drop 65 points. On the equifax report pulled directly through equifax it has all green, which indicates "pays as agrees" from aug 2005-feb 2009, then grey "CA" on March 2009. So they actual CRA is not indicating any lates. How is this? I though myfico was the exact same as equifax???

Re: Hospital Medical All Together In 1 Entry On Report-Hit Report & Caused 65 Point Loss

First of all, the info on all three FICO reports can vary (or omit) from the info on reports taken directly from the CRAs. This is why we have to pull directly from the CRAs when in credit restoration mode. Back to the collection. Your situation is the most mysterious one I have ever seen. I'm concerned about fighting how its being reported though. Its certainly possible that fighting it could result in a ton of new collections on your report. Is there anyway you can come up with the money to pay? If not, there's not much you can do.

Re: Hospital Medical All Together In 1 Entry On Report-Hit Report & Caused 65 Point Loss

Thanks again fused! I want to fight this honestly. I know that it could back-fire but it would be so much easier to pay one at a time if that is the outcome. Does that even make sense? I know you probably think that I am crazy but this is insane in my eyes of how they reported. It is in dispute status since I lost it yesterday and immediately called eq. Did I screw this up by disputing? If I try to fight it, do I have a leg to stand on with the way that they reported? I mean if I stalled at some point, I think that I could get most of it paid and maybe they would not then persue reporting. What do you suggest?

Re: Hospital Medical All Together In 1 Entry On Report-Hit Report & Caused 65 Point Loss

This is a good chunk of change that you owe. I would never dispute a CRA or DV a CA unless I know all of the possible outcomes. Also, I would never challenge something if I didn't have the money. Remember one very important thing when it comes to med collections and HIPAA, you have protection under HIPAA, but you do not have protection under HIPAA with public records (judgments). You better hope you don't get sued for rocking the boat.

Does SOL apply to medical?

I assume this debt is with a clinic (doctor) that is 100% private and has no involvement whatsoever with federal or state government funding?

Re: Hospital Medical All Together In 1 Entry On Report-Hit Report & Caused 65 Point Loss

Yes, your assumption is correct. The reason why I am asking is because...well 1. you scared me by your last message and 2. we have had insurance since last year, so from 2008-2009 we can handle easily. Other than that, the most expensive part of the medical is all past SOL. It is 4 years in Texas, right? So, we could easily pay the 2008 to current if that is the case. I just do not want to be sued for the 2002-2004 issues. Thanks again for all of your help, fused. I really do appreciate you replying so quickly and honestly.

How do you know legal SOL on med debt is 4 years in Texas?
