Same exact collection account reporting twice by IC Systems.... Please help

I have a dental collection reporting twice on my credit file. The account numbers are one digit off but all other information is identical. I disputed the account once online with no success. What should I do now? DV letters to the collection agency? Not really sure what my options are. I can pay the collection but off course want to get one deleted ASAP as it is truly inaccurate. The other, I'd like to try to execute the HIPAA process to get it removed.

IC Systems is the worst. They bought a Bell South account from an attorney in LA, and both are reporting on my credit report with Equifax. TU and EXP deleted when I challeneged. Bell South was included in my BK.

I think I'm going to try to DV the colleciton unless I get advice otherwise. If that doesn't work, then I think I'm goign to try to file a series of complaints to get the duplicate removed.

Re: Same exact collection account reporting twice by IC Systems.... Please help

you need to HIPPA process them.

Also, check and see if they are licensed in your state.  I live in a state that CA need to be licensed and they are not.

By any chance do you know how I check to determine whether or not they are required to be licencsed in Florida to collect a debt. I did a quick internet search and found under that they do not have a licensed under the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, but not sure how to determine if they are required to have a license in Florida to collect.

yes go to the state resources.  I think it is the 5th thread on the home page of Rebuliding credit page in yellow..  Locate your state then go to License look up.  Put on Collection Agency and type the name.

Re: Same exact collection account reporting twice by IC Systems.... Please help

Thanks. I'm so thrilled. It looks like IC Systems is not licensced to collect in my state. The only thing is will they turn around and try to sell the debt to someone else? I think I need to go ahead and pay the OC using the HIPAA process and then challenge this collection/make my complaints.
