Score a win for pre-hippa with trans, still no progress with Experian

I assume its Fuse I am thanking.  Just got a letter response from the pre-hippa letter I sent to TransUnion and they indicate, they deleted the CA.  thanks again.

With regard to Experian, I followed the procedure up to sending scenerio 3 letter for an account paid in full.  Have received back both green cards from collection agency and Experian.  However, the CA has not sent me anything yet and Experian sent me a copy of my credit report still showing the collection account, although it does show that it has been paid.

Is my next step to file a complaint with state and federal authorities.

thanks,

jack

Congrats on TU deleting your med collection. As for EX, the evil one, is your med collection marked as disputed and verified on your report?

Hello,

It reads

Status - Paid Closed/Collection Account

Account History - Collection as of Feb 2009

Creditor's Statement - "Account closed at credit grantor's request."

This item was verified and updated on Feb 2009

thanks,

Jack

Who did you pay, the CA or the OC?

Re: Score a win for pre-hippa with trans, still no progress with Experian

This is a little confusing.  The original bill for 527 was incurred in Jun 08.  Early Dec 08, I finally paid a $100 to the OC.  It was cashed.  About mid Dec 08, I paid another 100 and that got cashed.  I, for no particularly, reason, decided to wait for the updated bill to arrive before paying the next bill, as I figured a bill would arrive early Jan 09.  I seem to recall getting a notice once a month anyways.  As they were cashing the checks, I didn't give it much thought.

Early Jan 09, I got a call from CA at work.  As it turned out the OC sent the account to CA mid Dec 08.  CA immediately reported to the all The CRA and went about getting a hold of me.  The OC verified they sent it to CA mid Dec.  They also verified getting the payments.  The OC informed CA that 200 had been received.  I paid the balance to the CA and CA indicated they'd clear my files.  Obviously not.

Mid January I sent pre hippa to Experian after opting out.  Mid February, sent scenerio 3 to CA (still no response).  A few days later when green card came back, sent follow up letter to Experian.  Received green card a few days later and copy of credit report about 2 weeks ago showing no action.

thanks,

Jack

Are you certain this collection is marked as "disputed and verified" on your EX report?

EX is far and away the most difficult CRA to get a collection deleted from. Is the CA a local one in your area or a national one?

The CA is local.  Although I'm wondering if I went the wrong route.  Rereading your hippa procedure, it looks like the scenerio 1 wth insert B might have been more accurate.  CRA did verify and provide me with an accurate location of the CA.  And it is paid.  Should I have sent a letter to the original OC, it is also local?

thanks

Hello,

I'm thinking I have had no contact with the OC, other than the payments I sent to them about the time they sent me to the CA.  I'm thinking I should shoot the OC a letter of complaint.  What do you think?

thanks,

jack
