Updating personal information

Thank you all that post you knowledge and information. I have read many posts and have found out a lot of things I would have never known.

I'm trying to clean up my husbands credit report and mine. I'm starting with my husbands because he has a lot more that needs to be taken care of first.

First he has 17 paid Medical collections on his credit reports that we would like to try and get deleted.

I've been trying to follow the steps that were listed in this forum.

I did the first steps by opt-out.

And off to the personal information....

His drivers license is different then out home address. We were to be on a temp. move so he kept his license his address the same since he had his drivers license (parents home in a different state). Any way the bills come to our now rented home address.

The credit report shows is current address as our rented home address.

I would like to get to the step to start writing letters but I'm at a complete stand still. I would like him to update his drivers license to our current address, but he shys away from it because we hope to move soon and doesn't want to have to keep changing his drivers license.

So here lies the problem, do I make him change his drivers license? Or do I have him update with the CRA address on his drivers license ?

Thank You all for any help you may have.

Re: Updating personal information

Its best to have an address on his credit reports that does not have any connection to the med collections (or other non-med baddies). Using your new temp address might well be very beneficial in fixing his credit.

Re: Updating personal information

Thank you!

Now for the next step.

I will write the HIPPA letter. Do I need to write it 17 times one for each account? Their all from the same CA.

That just seems like alot.

Also do I do the ALTERNATIVE MED DV LETTER TO THE CA?

Thank You

Re: Updating personal information

After opting out with the CRAs and his current creditors that he's in good standing with, the next step is:

Send the pre-HIPAA dispute letter to the CRA ('s) CM (no RR, this is the only letter in the HIPAA process where you will not send it CMRRR) and wait up to 35 days for the results of the their investigation(s). Be sure to handwrite this letter (and the envelop too) using personalized stationary and teal blue ink. If his meds collections are deleted, he's finished. If they are not, post again in this thread.

PRE-HIPAA MEDICAL DISPUTE LETTER

Re: Updating personal information

Do you send the PreHippa Letter to all 3 CRA's?
