What Now? OC and CA say to take off report....It's still there..

Hello everyone! I am new to the boards and my head is spinning with all the information. I only wish I had found it sooner.

In July we have to go to the bank and change a loan from interest only to a regular loan. It was the down payment on a house. We used some equity in the house I had before I got married for a loan for the downpayment.

I filed bankruptcy 8/2000 so it will still be on my report.

I have 3 collections on Transunion and Experian. Only 2 are showing on Equifax. They are all the same OC.

The oldest is from 2005. Insurance did eventually pay it. However, I had paid it before they did and it still went on my report. I have done nothing about this.

The other two are from Oct. 07 but did not report until Dec 08. These are also paid.

I had made arrangements with the hospital for payments before the CA started calling me. They were ruthless. I had to finally hang up on the guy. I called the hospital and the man I had spoken to there told me that he thought that he had taken care of it. That it should not have gone to the CA and he would take care of it. This was in July of 07. I paid the bill to the hospital as agreed and never heard from the CA again.

Flash forward to Dec of '08. I get my report and the CA have reported the 2 bills. I called the hospital and as luck would have it the guy no longer works there. However, I did explain the situation to the lady that took his place and she agreed to call the CA and see what she could do. She called me back and said that she had talked to them but didn't know if it had done any good.

The collections were still on my report in Feb. So I called the CA and talked to someone there. She was actually nice and listened to most of my story and had me wait while she read all of the notes. She said that the OC had called in Dec. and that the CA had reported to all 3 CRA to delete the information in Jan and in Feb 09. She thought that if I waited until April they would be off of my report.

They are still showing on all of my reports as of tonight.

My question is what should I do now? Should I call the CA back and try to get documentation to send to the CRA?  Or should I call the OC back and see what they can do? Also, should I call the OC about getting the older one removed, she did try to be helpful on the 2 that I talked to her about?

I have read that if I start the HIPAA  process it will lower my score and that is the last thing that I need to do before the loan. So I would have to wait until Aug to start that process.

Also the creditors full name and phone numbers are no longer listed on any of my reports.

My Transunion score is 692 and my Equifax score is 684 It's anybody's guess what my Experian score is. I am hoping to get over the 700 mark if these collections go off. Also my credit card utilization is at 18% and I plan on having it below 10% by June.

If there is any more information that you might need, just let me know.

I appreciate any and all help.

I would start the HIPAA process now.  You should not contact the CA as they do not fall under HIPAA. Only medical providers fall under it.

Be sure to handwrite the complete dispute letter!

Thanks so much for you help. I didn't know what to do next since the OC and the CA both agreed that it would be taken off. But I guess the CRA decided not to. I will start the process.

Thanks Again.
