Re: What if OC tells you to call CA?

I live in California, unfortunately.  Since they're taxing us to death, here, I may be headed back to my birthstate of

Georgia soon!

There's a special place in Heaven (credit and otherwise) for you, fused!  Bless you and the rest of the moderators for all the good work ya'll do.

Many thanks!

Georgifornia

Well, thank you! Hopefully, you win and the collections get paid and deleted.

Re: What if OC tells you to call CA?

Hi fused!  I'm back.....

Checks for both debts have cleared my account ($170.38 on 3/31 and $56.70 on 4/8).  I also received a letter from the CA dated April 2 regarding the first debt which stated:

To Whom It May Concern:

This account was paid in full on 3/31/2009.  The record shows that a total of $170.38 has been paid.  This account will be deleted from all credit reporting agencies.

I did a Happy Dance when I received that letter!  I never called the CA and they didn't try to collect any interest.  However, the debt is still showing up on my CRs a month later and is having a negative impact.  Also I need a better score to be able to move when my lease ends next month.

Should I write the CRs and send a copy of the CA letter?  Also, should I wait until COs are removed before pursuing legal action against CA?

Thanks, fused!

I would have sent a copy of that letter to all reporting CRA's the day I received it in the mail. Just to speed up the process
