In case you weren't aware, Amex is offering a 40% bonus for transfer of MR points to BA Avios. This promotion runs through 01/31/2015.
I'd post the link I found info on, but I think that is a rules violation.

I was pretty tempted to move over some MR points over to Avios with this bonus transfer for potential quick trip to either bermuda or caribbean lol

Advising DD to move 50K over, so she can get an additional 20K. With the edition of US Airways to the OneWorld group there's potential for a few trips to visit friends.

I am presetnly trying to hoard some AA/US airways points for an trip to thailand in business on cathay pacific. Its too bad that the same flight with BA avios which i have access to in both my UR and my MR accounts is 100k more almost twice the price. Ridiculousness, but back onto topic the shorter flights on AA via BA is pretty nice. I am tempted to do 15k RT to Bermuda or 20k RT to carribbean from JFK.

I'm certainly no expert on this but I have read that there is a way to book travel on other carriers through the BA portal, so this may provide a way for you to save those extra miles and huge fuel surcharges. If I can find the post I read, I will PM the link to you.

I am not sure if thats possible , but i think going thru aa to cathay is probably best since you shouldn't be hit with any fuel surcharges i hope.
