Re: Amex everyday card looks

I've always thought they look nice.

I've had some absolutely crappy looking cards in my day.  At one point I had a card that had really hideous gold bars on it to indicate it was a 'gold card'.  It was almost embarrassing to use.

I tried to get a 'shut up and take my money' card from Capital One but they said no, hahahaha.

I remember always thinking the cards were a silvery grey because that's how it appeared to look on their website, Then seeing it in person I thought it was something fake, but no it's indeed clear. I could care less I guess what it looks like, it's certainly unique, no doubt about it. I just thought it presented better in websites than in person, but it's probably hard to present a clear card properly online, anyway, first world problems.

I think the cards look better in the photos. We are under the impression they are a sexy silver, then they show up clear.

Don't have Amex yet (will be aping very soon), but my initial thought when looking at their cards was the looks in the pictures were not all that bad. I kind of liked the BCP/BCE in a way. But not ever having one of those in my hand, that could tell a different story.

All it takes is some background shadowing or an image behind the card that extends past both sides of it.

AMEX dropped the ball on that one.

Re: Amex everyday card looks

I actually don't mind the look of the BCP/BCE/ED/EDP cards myself.  My BCP is starting to show some scratches, but that's just 'character'... LOL.

I do think it's odd that they seem to be getting away from the Centurion, which historically has been present on most of their non-partner cards (and even some partner cards, like the now-defunct Costco TE card).  To me the Centurion has always meant "Amex" and that's it's missing from some of their most popular cards is a bit surprising.

Re: Amex everyday card looks

I agree with the comment on the lack of the Centurion, but the only real thing that bothers me is the tendency of the shiny square bit to show fingerprints. The again, I tend to hate smudges on anything shiny... However, this does not have any influence as the Amex ED is my favorite card.

I love the look of the BCE/BCP! Although the BCP slightly less because they put the preferred wording in an awkward location running vertically.
