So i'm pretty sure I am not the only one, but I am always looking for new cards to apply for. I don't even need them it just gives me a thrill getting approved which I am aware all the inquiries are doing slight damage, but it will be ok haha. Sorry if this is a lame post i'm just new here and trying to get started. I have come to this forum multiples times for advice and I am super greatful, looking forward to getting more involved!

LOL you're definitely not alone. I don't even have good credit and just got over a credit apping fever recently. And yes, I made some mistakes. Picking and choosing, opening and closing some accounts. But I was able to get my fever under control now and I'm back in the garden.  So much so I setup a little incentive to keep myself in the garden.

Self-Made Incentive: Opened a 24 month CD that I setup bi-weekly payments since I can add to the CD at anytime (NFCU). When the CD matures, I''ll be inquiry free. I'll have a nice savings. And my AAoA will have aged 2 years. May be a lame incentive, but I had to make it work for me in such a way the I'd be making progress with credit and building savings.

I also love that feeling I get when I hit the apply button. It's sort of like going to a casino at first and playing a slot machine in the beginning of the build. Then after a few approvals it becomes more like having a beater car and you want that BMW so you climb the build by staying still to be eligible for it. Finally once you have that BMW I need to accessorize it (CLI) and make it the most beautiful car around. Once this is completed guess what, yup time to trade it in lol.

I like this story....  It appears I'm still driving a beater 😁🫠

For me, it was like this when I was young.  When I was 18+, how many credit cards can I amass?    Visa, MC, store, gas station, etc.  Today, in my mid 40s, I think unless this new card can give me something my existing cards don't, I am not interested.  Not as 'fun' but more 'practical'.  Smiley Happy

In college, me and a buddy apped for every credit card offered to us.  It was a game between us.

We knew the game was over when we got denied for the Radio Shack store card....
