Does any one have a imac or a mac mini do you like it? Thank you.

We have a Mac Mini. It's an older one, which I chose specifically because it could be upgraded. I added RAM and an SSD.
We like it, and have no complaints. We have never had an iMac, so I cannot give any kind of comparison.
My primary Mac is an iMac that I use for work/projects and I ABSOLUTELY love it. The 5K displays are GORGEOUS!!! but they're very very glossy so refelctions are a plenty. I've also got a pair of Mac minis that are used for file sharing and software testing (one Intel model and one of the new M1 devices). What specifically are you looking to know?

They cater to different needs, so there's no one size fits all response. The question I should have asked, is what are you expecting to get out of your computer with this purchase? What does and does not work with what you have now? Most importantly, what do you use your computer for?

If you need or want a better monitor, go for the M1 iMac. If you already have a decent monitor and would like to save the money, M1 Mini. It's that simple really. Avoid the Intel machines, they're going to be EOL very quickly.
Something worth noting is that the base iMac has a weaker 7-core GPU while both M1 Minis have the 8-core. Seeing how the Mini starts at $699 and the iMac at $1299, it seems stingy on Apple's part. Apple also decided to only put a single fan in the base iMac and it thermal throttles more than the higher end model with dual fans, something else to be aware of.

I spend a lot of time reading tech blogs and such so when someone asks me something it only takes me a quick refresher through Google search to collect all my thoughts together and make recommendations.

I am not as interested in monitors as I am other tech but if you need some help figuring it out, drop the things I asked for here and I'll do some research for you. The monitor I personally use on my desktop is the Alienware AW3418DW and I'm pretty happy with it for both productivity and gaming but Dell doesn't sell it anymore and the 3420/3421 are over $1K which is quite frankly too expensive for monitors that don't have HDR. I got my AW3418DW for less than $500 between a sale Dell had going on, an AMEX offer, and stacked it with the BeFrugal portal. I love my monitor but I never would have bought it were it not for that sale. You might consider waiting until Black Friday because lots of monitors go on sale (that's when I got mine).
