Just curious. I read somewhere that some companies keep their Human Resource data in the "Cloud".
How prevalent is this nowadays? Anyone have experience with their employers sing the "Cloud"
I know the sites that host our picture albums, facebook, etc, are cloud based.
What are your opinions? Good or bad?
I would not give anyone a photocopy of the contents of my wallet, let alone my banking info/credit card numbers, etc.
It's difficult enough to keep things to myself, l should trust a third party to do it for me? That's the cloud.
(Of course, I'm in the business, so paranoia is to be expected.)
"Cloud" Computing was made more along the lines to store docs like your family pictures and what not....
Common sense tells someone, hmm i shouldnt put this where anyone could theoretically see it because it could be stolen....
That being said, All of my tax information/job information and what not i store online....
I have pretty much accepted the fact that there is no such thing as privacy anymore. Even large companies like banks inadvertantly post personal information online, or lose copies of data tapes with your SSN #, etc.... Happens all the time.
I don't believe that Cloud is any more or less prone to security issues than traditional computing models. At the end of the day it all still comes down to their internal policies and trusting your service provider to not mishandle or lose your data.
