Also, as I look closely at the PR, it does appear to have something sandwiched in between the 2 sides, similar to the CSP.

Sweet. I put in a request for a replacement for my PR card the other day. Hoping it makes a clank when I drop it on the McDonald's counter.

I Have Way Too Many of These.

American Express - No CLI or Appreciation Gift in 7 Years

Citibank - Handing Out Credit Limits Like Candy

Chase - Surprisingly, Still Tolerating My Credit-Chasing Ways

Bank of America - My Newest Bae.

Ha, as much clank as a CSP will make. Like a hard plastic clank. I was trying to determine any differences between my PR and CSP, and I can't really tell. I'm inclined to believe it is metal, but unless someone can confirm it 100%, I don't know for sure.

Additionally, before I requested the new PR card (to get a contactless one) the BoA rep I chatted with said it wasn't metal. But upon arrival, it surely is metal or something else. The chat isn't showing up for me on their website, so I haven't asked them if the new design will come with a new card and/or if it is metal.

I didn't think it was metal to begin with, tbh.  The initial PR (when launched ) were more durable and sturdier than the current design, so it's possible individuals mistook them as a metal core card.  Of noteworthy, BoA does have metal versions of some cards, but a vast majority are ML issued by their PWM division -- for those who have the bling with the bank.

@FinStar when you say "current design", are you referencing the just-launched design, or the refresh that was done to the original design (darker grey/less shiny)? The reason I ask is I had the initial designed PR at launch (well, I got it ~3 months after launch). I got a replacement last year to get a contactless card with the refreshed design, and that card "feels" metal and is very similar to my CSP. It is way heftier than my original PR, which didn't appear any more durable than a regular credit card to me.

I should note both my cards are ML branded and I have a wealth advisor. I definitely don't have bling with ML (I just finally qualified for Preferred Rewards in January). I only have the wealth advisor because of my parent's retirement account with ML, which allows immediate family to be included in the advisor umbrella. I don't know what is considered "bling" level, but my parents I'm sure retired with a good amount in IRA/stocks to live comfortably.

Bummer, @Stralem . I guess I won't be requesting the new design... though I suppose I could always use my current PR until it expires if I do.
