Has anyone been able to upgrade to this design? When I go to the "Replace a card" menu I don't see this design and when I called they told me it was out of stock.

But it still shows the design for "new applications" and the "add new user" menus.

Maybe they ran out of their allocation for upgrades.

The Rose Gold AMEX was also initially a "limited edition " card. Then they brought it back for additional "limited edition " offers. Now it's just a standard offer when you apply for the card. There are a number of 747 that are being retired. The purple design doesn't have any real hooks to it.

Someone convince me they aren't going to ramp this up as a regular option for the Reserve.

They only had 16 to retire and 1 (the very first 747-400) is on museum display.  How many cards you think they can get from 15 Queens of the Skies?  (Queens of the Sky?  Uh, this is like "attorneys general" or "mouses" (when referring to computer peripherals) where the correct plural just sounds weird.)  With the crazy Welcome Offers lately, they may go fast!

A good point...and when our current cards expire, I am guessing they aren't "saving" any to replicate them in the future we'll be back to the previous version...

PS...yes, I was jealous so upgraded...

@K-in-Boston they can just make them like a normal metal card with that design , can't they?
