Chase Ink Cards Redesigned

Looks like Chase redesigned the Ink cards. When I logged out of my account, which showed the old designs, there was an advertisement for the Ink Unlimited and I thought for a second that it was a new card type. 

Of note: Unlimited is no longer blue and the Ink Cash, which has always just been Visa Signature, shows Signature Business. My current, old design Unlimited always showed Signature Business but Ink Cash never did which I thought was weird. Not sure if they are un-embossed. I may order a replacement card to find out.

Yeah it is due for one. I always liked the design though. Chase rarely messes up a design so it should be good.

Its funny how the CSP went from being the main card talked about here and now it seems like nobody talks about it anymore. Just an observation.

Oh, for sure. I do like the design, and I like it even more since it switched from a more purplish color to the blue. I wouldn't be upset if it continues the current design for a while. I'm just curious if the rumored revamp will come with a new design. I'd love to get it more swipes if they switch it to 3x dining, but so far, my CFU gets the most work. I don't even think it needs a spot in my wallet right now.

I noticed this the other day in my signature first, since they pull from the Chase site itself.

I had already ordered a replacement Ink Cash on Thursday. It arrived Friday. It's still the old design (which, in it's case, is not that different), so I guess they're not "active" yet.

Thanks for the DP; I will hold off ordering a replacement for a while. 

Looking at these again, I have to say I wish there were more of a difference between Cash and Unlimited. As I have them both, I can easily grab the one I need as one is silver and one is blue. Chase does love grays and blues. I would have liked maybe red or even green. Green is tricky though, rarely has a green card looked good.

I'd be down for blue-green. I think a CSP in aquamarine or turquoise would be slick. Though it'd be kinda funny with a "sapphire" being colored aquamarine or turquoise, since they are all minerals.

So just some updates about this from my original post on 7/31/2021:

On 9/8/2021 I received a separate email from Chase for both my Ink Unlimited and Ink Cash to inform me that the cards had been updated to add contactless. Additionally, Chase informed me that I would be receiving replacement cards by 10/8/2021 (both cards expire 2023).

10/8/2021 rolls round, still no cards. I called them on 10/14/2021, very nice woman answers and lets me know that the cards were just sent out on 10/8/2021. 

Received the cards yesterday. I am happy to announce that they are still embossed (sorry, not sorry I am old fashioned and I like embossed cards). Oddly, the expiration dates did not change....

Of note, all of the pictures of Ink Unlimited show it as a charcoal gray; it is actually more like a slate blue/gray blue (not to be confused with the Chase Slate card, I mean slate in nature). If you are familiar with Chrysler vehicle colors, it is similar to the Maximum Steele color available on the Ram 1500 truck. 

Additionally, I always felt it was odd that the Preferred and Unlimited are "Business Signature" whereas the Cash card just said "Signature." Despite the card art pictures posted showing all as "Business Signature" my Cash replacement still just says "Signature." I wonder why-I suspect it has something to do with merchant swipe fees; I am wiling to bet that as just a "Signature" they get a higher swipe fee to pay for that s#xy 5% cash back vs "Business Signature." 

Card carrier for both cards makes it clear that these cards are for business use only and indicates that protections are different with the business cards compared to personal Chase cards. I can't say I remember the prior card carriers pointing that out. 

Anyway, I would post this in the Business Credit forum but it is very Smorgasboard-ie due to discussion of aesthetics.

Reporting I received a new replacement Chase Business Ink Cash Card and it looks exactly like it did three years ago with a slightly brushed brown color saying "Signature" under the Visa. Chase has shown different cards online before and the actual card came looking different. No changes here from years back.

Will add they are raised letter embossed with a signature panel on the back. Would certainly work in the old knuckel busters processors. Not the new look but a nice looking card!
