Grats on the rank up @mgood. FWIW, I got to Valued at 1051 posts.
Maybe 105# is the minimum number of Posts to get there given that all of the other secret sauce ingredients are fulfilled.

@mgood - keep in mind that this particular milestone is not widely the same outcome for every member ranking up. There are some educated guesses that have been posted upthread based on a variety of documented thresholds, but 1052 is not going to be the "magic number" [specific for this rank] for all members 😉
I was wondering what the deal was. Looking at earlier posts, I thought it was at 1000. Then maybe 1051. Not sure why it was 1052. I have WAY more than the numbers that seem to be required for sign ins and minutes online. I'm over "Senior Contributor" level on those according to the list on Page 17.
So this is a game? Like trying to gather as many data points as we can to figure out exactly what makes FICO scores go up and down, we are trying to figure out the ranks in the same fashion?
There is obviously a secret sauce, but the details will never be known. Secret sauce can also be subject to change. At best, algorithms determine whether certain criteria is met or achieved for ranking upward. So, an exercise in futility in trying to reverse engineer the process since all that has been known/shared over the years are some best guesstimates.
FWIW, a rank level, especially in the higher tiers, doesn't always mean there's tangible quality either 😎
As FinStar mentioned, there is no magic number where you are entitled to rank up. That being said, there are numbers below which you cannot rank up to the next level. There are multiple factors and the threshold for each of the relevant factors must be met to rank up. I did increase # posts for Valued rank from 1000 to 1050 based on a review of past poster data and reduced minutes on line to 35,000 from 40,000 for Senior rank.
Updates shown in table in the below link. Refer to message 165.

The disparity (# posts when rank up occurs) really starts to show at the rank up to Super Contributor level. See current snapshot from today pasted below:
FinStar retired as a Moderator. Now MyFico has Credit Mentors - with reduced site privilages.
I think that the number of logins is what slows some users down. For example, sometimes I log in (not minutes, but hours apart), and the number of logins does not increase.
At other times, my login session times out, but I'm still able to post and comment to posts though the site indicates that I have the option to Log In.
It's bizarre and I don't know if this is an issue with the site or browsers but I suspect that I'm not the only one.

Gotta respect FinStar, he retired as a Moderator. Now we have Credit Mentors - OMG!
@Thomas_Thumb I can confirm the 1052 Post assumption from Established Contributor to Valued Contributor. All other values are not all that close to @mgood 's values. I posted below in case you wanted the complete data set.
Thanks. I had updated the table on page 17 to increase minimum required number of posts to 1050 from 1000. I prefer to round numbers to the nearest 5, 10 or 100 depending on how large the number is.
I have monitored minimum number of posts by users in each of the ranking categories periodically for a few years. The minimums in the table should be close. Of course, many posters require far more than the minimum due to something else holding them back.
I did make some adjustments to sign ins based on you data such as reducing threshold for frequent, established and valued contributors among others.
I still have not seen anyone rank up to Mega with less than 15,000. SJ was one of the more recent rank ups to Mega.
@Thomas_ThumbWhy would @CreditMagic7 with 19,000 posts not be a Mega?
Good question. Myjourney with 31,002 posts never got past Super Contributor. I have no idea what held him back. That's why I try to communicate the values in the table as minimums, not guarantees. At post counts below the listed numbers I have not seen anyone at the corresponding rank.
*edit add*
Up until a couple years ago a member could stay logged into their account indefinitely unless their phone/computer were shutoff. (No auto log out due to inactivity). As a result some prolific posters could have a low log-in count and be stuck at a lower than expected rank.
I suspect the auto logout was implemented as a security measure and as a deterrent for bot activity.

Yeah there are a few bumps here and there over the years. The chart is a great collection of info though.
This may have already been noted so forgive me if I am repeating.
There must be other criteria for one to meet before hitting certain member levels. This criteria is set up- I would think to prevent abusers from gaming the sytsem to acheive a certain rank or 'status' if you will.
For instance, a New Visitor could theoretically reply ~ 1,050 times to meet the post count Criterion to achieve the rank of Valued Contributor in a few logins... Realistically, this would never be organically feasible but other factors are established to try to thwart these bad actors.

I don't think kudos received has much to do with it as some of the super contributors have under 1500 received and a low percentage of posts to kudos. To me anything over 20% is good because that means much of what you say is of some value.Best I can telll the rankings are primarily based on # posts and minutes on-line. You need a certain minimum posts and minutes on-line to get to the next level. Others posters have presented data indicating # of sign-ins may be a factor as well. Kudos is not a factor nor is time since 1st sign-in. [system glitch on 7/22/2016 reset minutes on line dropping rank for many posters.]
A breakdown of minimum posts (and minutes on-line) for each rank is shown below. Not much data on sign-ins. [note: visitor rankings appear to follow the same QTY for posts as member rankings].
Added column with potential minimum on-line minutes based on glitch data. "Tested" thresholds for Established Member, Valued Member, New Contributor, Contributor, Regular Contributor and Frequent Contributor. [On-line minutes threshold over 3600 for Established Contributor per my data and feedback from SJ. On-line minutes threshold for Valued Contributor is around 8000 per Elim feedback]. Legendary threshold added 1/2018 based on Robert EG rank change.
Added column for sign-ins. Sign-in data reported for new member, established member and new contributor ranks

@Thomas_Thumb Thanks for the data! I never paid much attention to my rank, until now. My signins and minutes online are enough for the next level, except that darn post count!
