Sign ins, posts and minutes on line all factor into rank. I put together a table summarizing minimum thresholds by rank. Achieving the minimum does not guarantee a rank up but, means below that minimum you won't reach that rank.

Interesting information, thanks.

I've been a member for nearly three years and never really tracked my rank all that closely; I've always been surprised when I ranked-up.  I just looked at Post 165 and compared the rank above me (Senior Contributor) to my current stats and see the following:

Posts:

• Current: 2,650
• Senior Minimum: 3,000

Signins:

• Current: 2,682
• Senior Minimum: 900

Minutes Online:

• Current: 155,922
• Senior Minimum: 35,000

Long story short, it looks like I'll be a candidate to rank up to Senior some time this year or maybe early next, when I do I'll send you my (then) current stats.

I am at over 85 posts, over 1185 online minutes (though the clock stopped accruing any additional minutes yesterday and today), sign ins is at 35 (though it also doesn't count all sign ins, I believe I'm down at least 20 to 30 mostly from Tuesday and Wednesday, and a lesser amount today) and I am frozen at Established Member.

Unless I miss my guess, there is a minimum latency period between sign-ins; if you sign in within X amount of time since your last sign-in, it doesn't count as a new sign-in.  I suspect not long after you finally accrue 50, then 75 sign-ins, you'll rank-up.

The clock must begin again after five hours, maybe over seven hours being off. It has not moved today for over seven hours of my being off the forums.

I have now moved up a level without reaching the minimum sign ins. I'm still frozen at 38 sign ins.

I was off for under two hours. Signed back in and I jumped three sign ins, from 38 to 41. My minutes have not increased. I understand the algorithm may be a mystery, but not counting sign ins and minutes is not fair.

I will keep tracking and report in now and then. I just want the forums to be fair. There are possibly others having sign ins, minutes, and who knows what else not being counted. I'm certain if a members CC didn't report or on time payments were excluded from their CR they would not be happy.

Based on my experience over the past few days, only four maybe five log ins count per day. It would therefore take approximately six years to reach the top level.

Another interesting datapoint; I posted a few days ago my stats were showing 2,650 posts, today those same stats are showing 2,610; looks like I'm posting in reverse.
