Best designed card in the world is the Credit One NASCAR card! Smiley Wink

I kid of course. That is the worst, right next to the shoddy PenFed manufactured cards.

Best? AMEX Platinum and Gold. I have people comment on the cards most every day.

A geographically-dependent experience!

A metal Gold might stand out in some places, while a Centurion might not get a second glance in the SF Bay Area.

What credit card aesthetics do you like?

Hi all.

I know cards aren’t all about looks - but looks are certainly a factor of which card gets used most (backed by statistics!)

I’m curious which aesthetics you all like most.

For me - the chip needs to be quite large. For example - the gold card by AMEX has the perfect size - but the platinum is tiny!
It’s a weird thing to care about, but a small chip makes it feel off balanced.
Oh and a metal card adds 5 pts!

What do you all like?

Had no idea chips were different sizes, lol. I guess my number one is that it needs to have the number printed on the back and have only the name and logo on the front, think BOA Cash Rewards style for example. I hate the old-fashion cards with embossed numbers. The paint/coloring wears off so quickly and makes the card look like crap. Oh and vertical oriented cards just look weird to me.

Re: What credit card aesthetics do you like?

I personally like the look of "big boy" cards, and by that I mean cards without loud graphics/colors, cartoons, or any other aspect that gives the appearance of a card carried by a college kid. So typically black cards, business cards, or cards with a professional appearance. I will probably never have one, but the Amex Centurion always looked great to me.

Those do look better with the number on the back. I wish more card issuers would start puttin the Visa/MC logo on the back like Cap1 did with  the Venture. That leaves the front of the card uncluttered.

My newest debit card lost the coloring about a month after receiving it. Smiley Sad

Yes, I hate those cards. I hope the big US banks don't jump on that trend.

Re: What credit card aesthetics do you like?

All of my cards I like the looks of, except the hideous Uber Visa card. That is one ugly card. Doesn’t stop me from collecting 4% back at restaurants though

I agree that I prefer the newer style without the raised numbers on the front.

Amex gold and silver and even green are just classic classy cool.

I kinda like the Citi double cash blue/green thing.

Chase cards look cool.

Re: What credit card aesthetics do you like?

I have major OCD issues - everything about the MasterCard logo irks me. I don’t know why. I can say this much - I hate the colors - orange and red look stupid together. Recently, I’ve noticed banks moving to silver or gold MC logos - yet I have no inclination to apply or carry any MC cards - period.
