So this is my first year filing my taxes, the process to me seems easy enough. I'm wondering which website you utilize to process your paperwork and file, which program option and cost, and why?
(I did them myself this year, first time as well)
TurboTax
Married filing joint, EITC and Child tax credit.
Cost is free for both state and federal returns.
I did pay the 29.99 fee for filing so they will keep all my tax documents on their server. Ive never needed it but its nice to know if I cant find it at home its just a login away. I can do that myself but, paying for convenience. Otherwise their service is free.
Why? Got tired of paying Jackson Hewitt 400+ to file my taxes every year. It literally takes less than 20 minutes to do your taxes and it only takes that long if you are going through every option in TurboTax's page.
This year was easy and itll be easy for you. Next year I read we are required to show proof of insurance, depending on how they want that it could make things harder next year. Or just as easy, just 1 more number to input.
Another vote for Turbotax Online. I've been using TurboTax for 15 years now and have never had any issues with it.
I use a CPA.
TurboTax hands down: best software out there, though a few might be slightly cheaper I don't mind paying a bit extra for something that has worked every single time flawlessly for nearly a decade in my case.
+1 On turbo tax.
I've been using it seems like forever and for the next years taxes, you just pick up where you left off from this year. It's made filing easy for a small business like mine.
I got a nice hefty return from turbo tax. I compared every free software online and they offered the highest refund by $200.
I've used the H&R Block website for the past several years. Mainly, I pay because it's easy to use and it keeps your records stored. I've already filed and getting a Federal refund on the 4th
I like TurboTax.
Married, filing joint, two kids, EITC, health care subsidy, small sole proprietorship business (very basic), no state income tax. I get $20 off for being a USAA member, but even without, it's still very reasonable priced.
