I can't imagine carrying all my cards, I would be looking over my shoulder constantly. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
I'd be more pissed off about stolen purse than stolen credit card. cards can be replaced and any transaction afterwards can be blocked or used amount can be reimbursed, but who's gonna cover for my purse?
I know with discover wallet protection plan, you can claim up to 100 bucks for your wallet, but that's not enough to cover for my purse.
I just make sure no matter which cards I have I have at least a Visa or MC, just incase one isn't accepted somewhere. I had a gas station where MC wasn't accepted. Thank God I had my VIsa because I didn't have any cash on me.
Personally, I rotate as needed. If I'm going to CostCo, the card comes out, something that favors a different card, that comes out. Otherwise I keep the general spend card and the debit if it is needed. That is it.
Which is great because it allows me to carry a super slim wallet.
@Anonymous wrote:Some day we'll carry a single credit card-sized electronic device with all our cards loaded on it, so we won't have this problem. Moreover, it'll automatically do all the rewards math for us on which card to use in any given situation, so we won't ever have to keep track of that either.
Wallaby, my friend. I check it every time I'm in line if I'm not sure what card is best. Just load the app with your cards, and it tells you the right one to use.
I got a wallet with 12 slots so I can hold my 8 CCs, 1 debit card and have 3 slots left over for miscellanious other cards, like health insurance. Unfortunately, the slots are horizontal, so I can't carry business cards anymore.

Fact! I like nice handbags and I would be lit up if someone tried to take it.
I only carry a couple cards, rest stay locked up at home unless I go on a planned shopping trip. I carry no debit cards, rarely use debit.
I have had several debit cards over the last few years get hijacked. Most recent being my Citi debit being used at a Gamestop 2 states away. Thankfully Citi denied the transaction and called me right away. So me being paranoid now I only carry a couple cards.
I carry one or two in my pocket, keep others that I use fairly often in my wallet which is in my purse, and the rest, which won't fit in my wallet, I have rubber banded together in my purse.
I carry 10 credit cards with me at all times, I don't carry my personal or business debit cards anymore. I prefer the wallet called "hipster style". It isn't hipster as in skinny jeans and thick rimmed glasses by the way. It is a leather bi-fold wallet with 10 card slots, 5 each side. The wallet is actually square when closed, so it is taller than a normal bi-fold and this makes the wallet still lay relatively flat when full of cards. It also has a divider in the bills portion, so I don't have to show off my large bills every time I pay for something, I can just access the front portion with $20 notes and smaller. I bought mine on Amazon, it is made by Hammer & Anvil. Very affordable and has held up well. I bought 6 of them at once since I hate switching products when they stop making them and the original fails. Hopefully the six I bought will last my lifetime. Oh and my other cards are in my huge gun safe not my sock drawer.
