I figured out how to go from 14 mpg to 45 mpg Guarenteed!

I bought a motorcycle and parked the Durango. It worked like a charm! So far so good!
20 mile round trip to work only cost me less than 2 bucks! Warm Texas wind everyday gets my spirits up and no more $100 fill ups!

What a deal!

Yea im thinking about getting a scooter, not one of the small one either, one that goes about 70mph+! I like the honda silverwing scooter, reminds me of the gold wing motorcycle!
Rebuilding and Reducing Debt, is my game plan.

Too many funerals and hospital visits in my past for me to consider riding one of them things  Smiley Sad
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

As I have a family, I can't imagine riding one of those either.

I will never forget the phone call:

Caller.  "This is the South London Police.  Do you know Peter H?"

Me.  "Yes, what has done, lost his motorbike?"

Caller.  "No.  He listed you as next of kin."

They are gas-efficient little death traps, yes. I'm personally scared to death of them, and scared of riding down the highway near them... zipping in and out of traffic, cutting between lanes/cars.

My Aunt Ann died two weeks after visiting us.. she and her husband both had gorgeous traveling bikes, spent their time visiting the US. They were safe drivers, too. But she hit a rock and even with a helmet, telephone pole head-on=brain dead, always. It was so unexpected. Really changed my perspective. We thought they were the models of safety, but you just can't protect yourself when there's nothing but air between you and the rest of the world.

I used to love riding (passenger only, too klutzy to operate), but between the fools in cars and trucks, the dogs, and random patches of sand, I just can't do it. They're great until they aren't.

I'm always amazed when I drive through states with no helmet law. My term for these people is "organ donors." And before anyone rants at me about individual freedoms (which I support), I just want to point out that too many people on bikes don't carry decent --or any --medical insurance, and the rest of us wind up paying their million-dollar hospital and rehab bills. I see their medical records, and I know how much this is costing in Medicaid and Medicare.

My sympathies to those of you have have lost friends and family this way.

edit to add: poor nosxih, we really hijacked your thread, didn't we? Smiley Sad Enjoy your new ride, but stay safe!

I'm loving my new beetle, very fuel efficient.  Since I live off of a main street, I do all of my shopping, banking, book shopping, pay bills, see the Dr., stop at p/t job...all on the way home.

Since online bill pmt opened up at our bank...no more stamps!!

I don't *do* motorcycles, I barely ride a bike...too scary.
