If you have an iPad... Help

So I am thinking of getting an iPad Air 2, and wanted to hear from those of you that have an iPad. How much do you use it? For those of you that also have a laptop, how much has your iPad replaced your laptop for daily use? What all do you use it for?

My wife has an iPad and really likes it. She can use it for anything a laptop does.

It hasn't completely replaced her laptop but it's very easy to carry around.

I'm thinking of getting one myself.

Hey MVV,

Thanks for responding. I was thinking about getting a Mac Book Pro, but then I sat and thought about it... and I think an iPad might suit me better. Mostly I read the news, post in here, check facebook, sports (most of which have their own app), read books, financial stuff, etc... All of which seems like it would be easier and more efficient with an iPad. There is nothing super resource hungry that I do any more, and it would be more comfortable to lounge around with a <1 pound iPad that a 6-7lb laptop. I can see long typing periods requiring a laptop perhaps, but that's about it.

Does she read on it? Any issues looking at it for long periods of time?

Everything she does on her laptop she can do on the iPad. For as long as she needs to.

Re: If you have an iPad... Help

DW and I recently got a pair of iPad Air 2s by way of her longevity present. Very slick, stunningly beautiful devices. We mostly use it when on the couch, for web video and Netflix in particular and browsing today's news. We don't carry them around in our everyday life, as the iPhone twins will suffice. For heavy typing and actual documents, we mostly stick with the iMac. Calls on the iPad by way of the iPhone was fun to set up, as was AirDrop of videos recorded on the iPhone. I have yet to try Pages, Numbers and Keynote on the iPad.

That's kind of what I would use it for. There are a lot of times at home where I would like to use a bigger screen than my iPhone, but don't want to have my laptop on my lap. Seems like the iPad would make things a lot easier. Sports, posting here, using Evernote and other assorted apps, perhaps picture management, email, browsing...Just seems like it would be very handy.

Re: If you have an iPad... Help

I have the iPad and like it spot, but I just also bought the iPad mini. A little easier to carry around, a bit larger than my iPhone and I read on the mini a lot with the Kindle app with no problem. I bought a blue tooth keyboard for the iPad but have only used it a few times.

That's brings up another good question. What's the best way to read ebooks on the iPad? Kindle app? iBooks?
