JOBS

Does anyone know a legal, good, stay at home job? I am really starting to have money problems. I work 5 days a week, but the money vs bills just is not there.

Re: JOBS

I'm sorry to hear you are coming upon some money problems. We've all been there at some point and definitely know the pain.

In all seriousness, I've heard that you can make some decent money at stuffing advertising envelopes for companies at home. I believe it's commission based, and the more envelopes you stuff and mail the more money you get. I see signs for this type of thing on the medians all the time. Perhaps it's worth looking into.

Re: JOBS

Ever hear of the cliche: Don't put all of your eggs in one basket? Unfortunately, most only have one egg...their job.

Since the age of 15 after seeing my folks get laid off and struggle with money, I never ever wanted to put my faith in a job. I always was open to having a job, but wanted to always be in biz for myself on the side. And from experience, there's plenty to do as an employee working from home and as a business owner OR employee working from home. I did sales for a newspaper, bookkeeping, accounts receivables (calling companies that owed us), a cfo for 2 diff businesses, business consultant, tax prep, political consultant, energy drink supplier, corporate and gift incentives, day trading (bombed at that) and a couple others that elude me for the moment. I did all of these from home without needing an office. Now a couple of these did and do require travel for meetings and whatnot, but none of these required an outside office and most of these I could do while holding a typical 9 to 5 job without leaving work. This is what I did anyway. There are plenty other things to do out there.

BTW, mentioning specific companies is a no-no, unfortunately. There's a great number of good companies out there.

Re: JOBS

we started up our own outsourced bookkeeping business, because my gf decided not to continue teaching, which was our main source of income.  fortunately for us, her father is an accountant with his own business, so we are able to market to his clients without taking any of his business away.  so far, it is working out well for us.

try looking around your community to find out what kind of services are in demand, & then see if you have the skills to fill any of them.  good luck!  Smiley Wink

Thanks to all of you, for replying. I do have experience in accts. receiveable, acct. payable, I have no problem talking to people. I know names are not allowed, but if someone can point me in the right direction, maybe you can PM me.

Also, I have looked at the stuffing env. but I do not know how to find a company that is legit. Any suggestions whould be welcomed.

The best work at home jobs require specific skills, so for us to help you need to tell us more about your background.  What training do you have and would you consider getting additional training?  I know people who do various jobs from their homes, including:

  • Medical writing
  • Medical transcription
  • Software development
  • Interior design
  • Essayist for a local newspaper
  • Composing music
  • Writing lyrics*
  • Editing dictionary entries
  • Legal research
  • Creating technical training videos

*With many forms of popular, classical, and religous music the words and the music will be written by different people.  My father's uncle was, believe it or not, the guy who wrote the lyrics of "I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream" many many many years ago.  He made his living writing lyrics to go with sheet music mailed to him by the publisher.

Re: JOBS

You could try:

Liveops.com  (you have to pay a $30 fee for a backround check-but it is legitimate)

alpineaccess.com

workingsol.com

I know these to be legitimate home-based customer service jobs.  (Telephone based)  Hope this helps!

I can confirm Alpine Access as being legit - they were featured just this week in a local news bit about work-at-home options.
