Macy's sure knows how to bait me in . . . after granting a new $19.5k CL . . . I decided to school shop a little early for my 2 grandsons. I already had $30.00 in Star Money pending, I spent $575.27 -and- earned $160.00 in additional Star Money -so- imagine if I was a Macy’s AmEx cardholders -and- could earn Star Rewards points on all purchases outside of Macy’s (i.e. dining, groceries, gas, etc) . . . $Cha-Ching$ . . . $Cha-Ching$ . . . $Cha-Ching$ . . . Yes indeed, I'm now looking forward to that Macy's AmEx upgrade!!!
Yeah, they sure do know how to pull you in

Anyone who thinks that has never had a Lowe's card. I'm trying to talk myself out of buying a new Weber grill that I definitely don't need but very much want.
Hard to judge the value without knowing what OP bought...and what the same or similar stuff would cost elsewhere.
Purchased kid's Levi -and- kid's Ralph Lauren ~ short sets, shirts, t-shirts and jeans . . . It was very much worth it, in addition Macy's stands behind its products!!! You stated, "what the same or similar stuff would cost elsewhere" like Target, Walmart . . . Nawh, I'll pass as I'm a faithful Macy's customer since the Foley's days!!!
