The Max Cash Preferred is on my radar, but after reading up on many of the data points, it appears that you need to be around 1/12 or less (new accounts) to get approved. So I’m in the garden for - oh, about a year.
I have some time on my hands and decided to find the best looking card (or cards, I might apply for two). Since the cards are actually issued through Elan, any geo restrictions that are in place for the banks or credit unions are not really in play as long as the card is all you’re looking for. Any deposit accounts at that same financial institution would still be subject to any geo or other restrictions.
So, here are the results of my fairly exhaustive (albeit likely not complete) dive into the current Max Cash Preferred options that offered something other beyond the basic “silver” card. Some are of course prettier than other, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I just thought this might be useful information for others.
So, without further delay, I present to you the “big list” of “prettier” Elan Max Cash Preferred Cards.

Comerica Bank has their application walled off, so that you must log into their site before getting the link to apply for one of their cards. In my research, I found nearly 600 Elan links that might work, so I’m not comfortable posting any direct links here.

Of these so far, I like Amplify and Bank of Sierra the best!
Also hot Elan tip, you can apply for 2 Elan cards in one day and they'll use the same hard pull for both. Of course depends on your overall plan, but if you want more categories, it could be better than waiting a year to try for another.

I appreciate the fact that you made this and also am laughing because, like many of us, you are clearly a credit card nerd.
I am shocked by how many credit unions and banks use Elan. I think its odd to go to a bank or credit union only to have your card be issued by another entity-itself owned by one of the largest banks in the US. Having said that, US Bank cards, IMHO, are ugly, all vertical. So I can see why someone who cares about aesthetics but wants the Cash + would go this route.
I see this being moved to Smorgasboard.....but I have to say it....I like the Exchange Bank and OMG...Pegasus Bank??? I LOVE the Pegasus! A bank called Pegasus! LOVE.IT.
