I admit it. I get very excited when my scores go up. Very excited.
I talk to my fiance about it, because he "gets it", and he cares about his scores, too. Thank God. I talk to you guys here in the forum about it, because... Well, that's what we do here! And YOU GUYS get it, too!
Other than that, I don't talk about it much. Oh, I am always glad to talk about credit issues when asked, but I never bring it up because most of the people I know personally either don't pay any attention to their credit, have HORRIBLE credit, or take zero responsibility for the state of their credit.
Being particularly chipper today because of a HUGE score bump this week (754 -> 838 TU), my good mood was apparently leaking out into my email exchange with my BFF. She said, "Well what are YOU in such a good mood about???". I told her that I had an 84 point jump in my Transunion credit score today.
She said, "You are SUCH a Score Whore."
I haven't been able to stop laughing since I got that email, and figured you guys might get a laugh out of it.
PREACH SISTER!
Congrats btw
High five! And congratulations!!!
HAHA!
I know! I think that is HILARIOUS!
Of course, being a true capitalist possessed of entrepreneurial spirit, I'm already thinking about mass-producing t-shirts, tote bags and umbrellas with SCORE WHORE on them.
Hahahahahahahahahaha! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I guess there are worse things to be called.

I'll buy a shirt... as long as you take Discover so I can get 2% back!
It is my opinion the only way you are a credit whore is if you get a dozen Comenity cards at low limits with 24.99% interest. If you go to a car title loan place and get a cash advance at 39.99%. Credit hos get ska-rewed by the creditors and are always looking to get some more of the same. Keeping up with your scores, balances, and so forth makes you a credit wizard.
