Only One

If the credit Gods came down and offered you one credit card to add to your collection, only one, any card in the world guaranteed, what would it be?

Re: Only One

Its a card that doesn't exist... a 5% everything. No caps. No minimum redemptions. 1 and done !  🤠

Re: Only One

If faced with having only one credit card, I would choose something that runs on the Visa payment network.  It would also need to have no foreign transaction fees, some travel perks, and a fairly generous rewards structure in my top spending categories.  During years with a lot of travel and dining expenses, I would choose J.P. Morgan Reserve.  For years with fewer travel expenses, I would choose U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve.

If I could keep my current portfolio but just add one card, I would probably make the same choices.  Amex Centurion would also be nice, but I'm not going to pay all of the annual and initiation fees.

Re: Only One

Depends...are the credit gods gonna also cover any AF's in perpetuity for this card? 😁

I suppose that's why nobody has asked for the American Express Centurion Card yet.

I mentioned it in the 3rd post, but I also said I would not be willing to pay the fees.

If yes, I'm in for Amex Plat.  I don't come anywhere near having the pocketbook to make use of a Centurion, lol!

As a rather amusing aside...

I actually already hold "The Only Card".  For real! It is my oldest card in my very young file, just turned 2 yrs. old a few days ago.  It started as the secured card issued by my long-time bank.  Then at graduation it converted to this card, with an auto CLI to $2k.  It's laughable as being the "Only" card, as the rewards for the account itself are only 1 pt/1$, but I have the Max Money checking account, so I get double rewards (2 pts/$1).  Card gets a recurring $10 charge monthly and that's pretty much it. 😊

@Who_wuda_thought  Too funny. This is the first time I've heard of The Only Card. Cool bank and card. You win.

Re: Only One

There are so many cards that I could choose from and so many I do not even know of. I guess it would be Anything without an annual fee and no interest, 5% cashback across all charges and a balance transfer with no fees.

That is funny - a real card with that name, great!

For international travel (especially Europe) Amex is not so good, because it is often not accepted.

I would choose the CSP or CSR as the only card.
