I made my last payment to GMAC yesterday. Now, I await the title. My SUV is 7 years old. I hope it last another 13 years at the minimum. Feels d@mn good!!
Congrats, DI! You've been wanting to do that for a while now, it must feel good!
Now, if you want another 13 years out of that SUV, make sure you do regular maintenance on it. Don't wait for something to break before visiting your service center. Regular checkups for your vehicle (and oil changes), just like physicals for yourself, can prevent a lot of difficult and expensive problems later on, and it's well worth the few dollars in service charges to protect the investment you've already made.
Not trying to preach at ya, just a hint from someone who's tried it both ways (little/no maintenance, and regular visits). Regular maintenance wins, every time.

Thanks everyone! Also, this accomplishment came at the same time, I was notified being accepted to Florida International Univ. I'll be moving to Miami in August. I am now in relocation mode.
Wow! Congratulations on both!
Having all your t's crossed and your i's dotted on your credit will make this transition much easier, won't it? I wouldn't have been able to do my masters if we hadn't been in relatively good shape to start. And, overall, we will end my stint in school with better credit and more assets than we started...even with being one income short. It's amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it.
Thanks all! It still hasn't dawned on me that it's paid off. Maybe when my EX report update tomorrow showing the zero balance, it will start to sink in.
I got the oil changed yesterday. I have a raincheck to get it clean on Tuesday. The weather was bad yesterday. The final things I need to do is degrease the engine and replace the windshield.
