Maybe a moot point if the others (Apple pay, etc) work out, but still seems interesting:

Right, looks much better than Coin but still vaporware. Chip&Pin added by firmware update in late 2015. Not sure I can trust that being so far out!
Wow thanks for sharing! with all the issues coin has given me (delaying the release of the coin I should have already received to the spring)

Thanks for sharing. Given the alternative that will be available at launch time, the price is ridiculously high. I think it needs to be around $50 to have any chance.
$155 YIKES!
That's a steep price. I mean, it's totally cool and I suppose the hardware is pretty advanced...but I dont think I can justify that $155 price point...

Agreed. Steep price for convenience... And of course as others have mentioned, complete vaporware at this point. I just don't see everyone paying that $ just for the convienence.

coin most likely be useless after 10/15 because most merchants probably don't want to take it because they will be liable if your information get stolen as a result of that swipe and 100 every two years is like a 25 af. that apple pay is the same as asis now softcard, people that uses softcard only do it for the offers not because is more convenient or easy, it may be another way for shallow apple user to show that they have a iphone but is the same old fail technology
CNET article: Plastc: A Coin challenger appears
It looks very cool! Coin should be very worried, imo. At a lower price point, I'd consider it.
PS I don't know why this topic was moved from Credit Cards to SmorgasBoard. It seems very relevant to the management of physical credit cards.
Sorry to bump an old thread, but because this was already out here I figured I would bump instead of start a new one.
Plastc is supposed to start shipping this summer. I agree the $155 is steep, but the card looks sick. Trying to decide if it is worth it or not. Anyone pre-ordered one yet?
Ill put this baby on my birthday present wishlist
