Remove myself as an authorized user?

Hi everyone!

I've been in rebuilding for about a year now and I've recently applied for a mortgage. The mortgage people want me to be removed from accounts I no longer am associated with. Does anyone know how to remove yourself as an authorized user on cards that you are no longer on speaking terms with the person on?

It's kind of an odd situation, but it's worth asking if anyone else has had this issue...

Re: Remove myself as an authorized user?

Just file a dispute online as "not mine" or whatever the exact verbiage is. That simple Smiley Happy

Re: Remove myself as an authorized user?

It's super easy.

Just call customer service for the banks on which you're an AU and ask to be removed.

The history will stay on your CRs, but they will show you no longer have access.

I'd recommend NOT disputing them with the CRAs as they are true and factual information and may cause more problems being listed as disputed items.

Right, the mortgage company isn't going to want to see those dispute comments.

Re: Remove myself as an authorized user?

Umm disputing an AU user account as "not mine" is a completely valid dispute. The account isn't actually yours so there is no lie. There won't be any dispute remarks left as the CRA's will just remove the account.. These disputes usually take a couple of days at most. Good luck
