Re: Shrinking Member Count; how long until we're below 100,000?

I just noticed today, we are now under 100,000 members..

Chapter 13:

  • Burned: AMEX, Chase, Citi, Wells Fargo, and South County Bank (now Bank of Southern California)
  • Filed: 26-Feb-2015
  • MoC: 01-Mar-2015
  • 1st Payment (posted): 23-Mar-2015
  • Last Payment (posted): 07-Feb-2020
  • Discharged: 04-Mar-2020
  • Closed: 23-Jun-2020

I categorically refuse to do AZEO!

I have about as much confidence in the accuracy of that number as I do of current online users.  ;-)

The trend speaks for itself. Membership down, stock price up, up and away. If only my posts were stock shares!

Re: Shrinking Member Count; how long until we're below 100,000?

I've noticed that a lot of topics seem to be started by "new members". What's missing that used to encourage former lurkers like me to actually join the forum instead of jumping in n out once the actual members provide helpful advice,?

Re: Shrinking Member Count.

I didn't sign in for a couple of years though I was utilizing the Forums. I help people with their credit, always for free. My profile became Anonymous. I tried getting my account reinstated with no luck. Signed back up using my original screen name. That worked for a day or two only to be told by the administration that the name was being used. Yes, by me!

I question why posts that are no longer relevant are not deleted? Anybody apply lately for a A&F card ? Maybe a Fuels Reward?

Eliminating members is not a welcoming site.

Looks like count is down to just over 98,000 now. So, 3000 MIA in 2 months. More ghosts, less members.

Perhaps MyFICO can fill the gap with an army of Fbots. ( the F stands for Fico, ya dirty animal)

Welp, I wanted to come back after a long break and read a bunch of happy chit-chat that makes MF unique only to find quite a few MF'ers are gone.  POOF!  Then I see the Garden Club gone too! .....like why?  Who thought it was a good idea to remove the GC?? Doesn't appear to have improved the site....if that was the incentive....oh boy what a 🪛.

My thoughts exactly @GApeachy  It would be nice to have a reunion for us Veteran MF members. A lot has changed in MF and in the credit world. I pretty much lurk these days.

For me, I think every new post is a "Déjà vu" moment.

If you could only have 1 card?,  How do I get a CLI?,

Will I get this card?,  Why is my score so low?

Have been thinking about taking a vacation from the forum my self.

My view of a simple few cards, not chasing high CL's, not doing AZEO monthly, not chasing SUBs, no BT's,

not rotating and playing with 25+ cards. etc.  I am about 180 degrees from the forum's norm.

Can't fully contribute to the majority of the forum questions, because my view is usually the exact opposite.

One persons view of you should wait for about 6 months, gets lost with 10-12, you only have 3 new cards this year and 4 inq's, you are good to go!, better get the Chase because you are at 4/24.

I've been on here less.

There's also not a whole lot going on as far as interesting new/improved cards that would drive lurkers to join en masse.

I agree.

Re: Shrinking Member Count.

I just came back after A FEW year vacation.   Profile gone.  Just as the pademic struck we had achieved all our goals.   Including scores above 800   We prior to the pandemic worked as subcotractors for FHA, VA, Fannie,  USDA for many years;  for over a year every month they strung us along saying we were going to restart any day.   We had to lay off every one.   Evey month more money out of savings and investmets just to keep the door open.   No take home pay.   We went in survival mode. No missed payments but terrible cranberry and cl decreases.  No fun going to myfico forums when you are trying to figure out which  property or investmet you are going to sell to eat for another few months,  This has been the first year in over 4 years we have had that cash flowed positive.  We(dw and myself)  want our old   scores and cl back.   Our pool and guest house have been closed now for 4 years and doubt will reopen for 2 more years

This seems strange that the member count continues to decline steadily, even after the heavy purges up-front.

Sooo ... 101,100 on March 28.

About 98,000 two months later on May 26.

Today, about two months later than the last update, I'm showing 95,741 members.  Smiley Sad

So the community is continuing to lose about 1,300 members every month!!!
