So far I've been given no justification for the ban even though I made a post about it on the tech support category and I'm only able to post this message using my phone with WiFi turned off.
You might be getting caught by an old IP ban that was done for another user (it happens).
The message you see on the banner will be the key... if it clearly doesn't apply to you then that's what's going on. The good news is it's easy to fix for someone who is experienced with the mod/admin dashboard. The bad news is it requires someone who is experienced with the mod/admin dashboard.
I'm sorry there's not more I can do to help.
If you check my post I made in the other section about the ban you can see the message I get which doesn't say anything except I've been banned from using the website (no reason provided).
I also doubt it's related to another user because I've had this same IP address for over 8 years as I pay for a static IP address from my ISP.

I just went and looked at your other post... that's the generic message, which as you mention doesn't really say anything. There is supposed to be a detailed message in the red banner explaining why the ban is in place (which would make figuring out issues such as this easier).
Anyway, unless you've broken the rules (you would know if this was the case) the ban is almost certainly related to another user regardless of your long-term static IP. Further, if you had broken the rules the ban should be on your member ID, not the IP (banning an IP is the 'nuclear' option). It's either a fat-finger/mistake or a ban on an IP range to block spammers that includes your assigned IP address.
FWIW, setting IP bans on Khoros communities can be rather tricky. This is good news, though, since it means if you can find someone who has knowledge of the Khoros system it can be fixed. If you can't get any traction on your other thread you might consider reaching out to @FICO_Admin for help.

Thanks for the insight, I'll consider that if I don't see anything within the next few days.

I just noticed it says on their profile that @FICO_Admin has been offline since 2022 so I'm not sure how helpful they'd be.

Actually, change that to @FICO-Admin.
(Sorry about the confusion; I have no idea why the other ID even exists - it should have been changed long ago.)

Are you using a VPN or accessing from a work laptop where your employer is rolling out an updated security strategy using a vendor like for example zScaler, Netskope, or Fortinet?

No, this was my personal desktop computer which is a fairly basic Windows 11 installation, windows defender, nothing special, no VPN, same way I've accessed the website since I joined a few years ago.
I've never logged in on a work computer.
FWIW most VPNs are fine on this site.
When I was a moderator I blocked a few problematic VPN IP ranges due to spammers, but it's a tedious manual process. Khoros doesn't have a way to block them across the board.

Eleven days later and we're down to ...
93,960
Really makes we wonder where we will ever bottom out before it starts to climb again.
Tomorrow will be four weeks since my last post noting the membership

to:
93,276
It's been about 2.5 months since my last running update.
Membership numbers continue to fall.
This seems odd to me since the initial culling of the dead wood.
Current count as-of 01/09/2025:
91,249
... over 2,000 lower members than in October.
Tomorrow will be four weeks since my last posting.
Today, we have:
90,592 members
That is 657 less members in less than a month.
Just logging these "for the record" but I do wonder where it will end or if it will ever reverse.

I have the best memory for absolute useless miscellany. If only I could monetize that 🤣
I wonder if having a mobile app that included the community and provided notifications would be helpful? Most people use apps for everything these days vs just leaving a browser open on a certain page on their phones.
