Hmmm is it just me lol, or did Cap1 actually offer better cc products and terms in the previous listed products below from some years ago, perhaps? Here are some example links of what Cap1 products were like (courtesy of the WayBackMachine website, which lists older/archived website page content for historical purposes), back in the day, just for comparison to current card products:

etc.
this should probably be posted under Smorgasboard
fascinating to me though!! the capitalone platinum mastercard had a 39 dollar annual fee in 2008 and an apr of 8.9%. that is incredible lol.
i wish i had my old CC statements from when i was younger and had lots of cc's before bankrutpcy. id love to see what the apr's were on the cards.
I readily confess lol that some of the past card products they offered within the referenced links would have me apping in no time, if they still offered them today, such as:
1. Capital One Platinum Max at 9.99% F(?) APR, with guaranteed no-RJ for 3 years
2. Capital One Platinum Prestige, at 7.16% V

I agree 100%...yes would indeed be very nice to be able to hypothetically go back to past APR offers and statements for comparison, vs. contemporary cc terms of today...
Did you see their offerings from back in 2004?
Ugly cards, but great perks, AF's, and APR's.

Wow very nice, ty for sharing! I hadn't looked back quite that far myself, definitely some pretty awesome terms there...
I think at one point in time, I actually had the 2006 Cap1 Platinum card at 8.9% F APR listed here at http://web.archive.org/web/20050308110514/http://capitalone.com/creditcards/compare.php?linkid=WWW_Z... . Unfortunately, since I was in the process of refinancing my existing mortgage at the time, my mortgage lender made me close out quite a few of the credit cards i had then, and this was a casualty (still have the terms for it, etc. on my computer in my electronic planner contacts list).
