Tax Rebate

What's the news from you?

My story is that by all expectations, I should receive one no later than the 2nd, which is tomorrow. I do not think I will though, because WHILE I am less than a 10 on the 0-20 bracket, and am entitled to an electronic transfer, it's REALLY looking like the 2nd of May will come and go, less what I've been informed of receiving (the rebate).

What do you plan to do with your rebate?

IF I get one, I plan to drop it into a savings account that stands to be drawn on for paying expenses when they get unexpectedly high. I "stimulate" the economy around me just fine without the rebate, and it would surely violate forum rules about politics to say anything further about some of my thoughts connected to the rebate. On second thought, maybe I'll plan to buy a tank of gas, loaf of bread, and a gallon of milk should I get a rebate.

Gaack! You're a smoker? I'm crushed! Smiley Sad

Ours is going toward the HELOC. Home Depot and DD#2's college are represented too heavily on this.

Oh, well cool on the beer. whew

(I have asthma, and my heart surgeon father died of heart disease after umpty-diddle years of 2-3 packs a day.)

Re: Tax Rebate

As advertised, MY rebate transaction completed on the 2nd. Sometimes being trigger happy with skepticism causes a better outcome.

Beer's on me, good luck with your rebates.

I stumbled across a rebate thread in another forum after I started this one, which I found confusing.

Re: Tax Rebate

This whole thing has me confused.  First I think I will get it electronically because we filed direct deposit and not rapid. Then I read on IRS.gov that if you filed through an accountant and paid a fee, you will get a check instead of direct deposit.

Anyone heard the same?

Re: Tax Rebate

If your fee was paid out of your refund and not by CC, you will get a paper check.

Was your direct deposit that you received from the IRS or another company?

If the direct deposit is from the IRS directly, you should still receive it via direct deposit.
