Has anyone else noticed this? Do you think it's because people are stressed about the holidays & the economy?
It's kind of ironic, because people here used to say not to go over to CB, because the people there can sometimes be downright rude...

Personally, I haven't noticed it on the FICO Forums, but I have noticed it just about every place else in the world. Seems like things like kindness, courtesy, humility, politeness, etc. have fallen by the wayside in favor of arrogance, rudeness, biting sarcasm, "one-upmanship", insults, etc. What's to blame? T.V.? If so, would it be a case of art imitating life or vice versa (or maybe a little bit of each, spiralling out of control...)???

Hey all, Hearts here!!
I agree with OP in that there have been some really bad and disrespectful posts on the forum. However, I am so proud of the MODS in how they handle it, shut it down and delete those posts even though they are someone's opinion just the wrong place to post all that anger and hostility. Tis the season to forgive however and let go and start fresh. So lets do that and agree to be to others what we would want someone to be to us and treat them how we want to be treated.. Love ya'll and keep being the examples to other and the help to others that they need.

"The one thing I can't stand is intolerance. And the Dutch."
(I'm NOT saying that -- that's a quote from Austin Powers -- well, his dad specifically -- played by the awesome Michael Caine -- in Goldmember. MV saying that ... just made me think of that line)
Again, it's a quote from a VERY silly movie!!
LOL I remember that.
It also reminds me of that quote from Bud (Harry Dean Stanton) to Otto (Emilio Estevez) from "Repo Man" -- "Well, you'd better not be (a Communist), I don't want no Commies in my car. No Christians either!!!"
Another very silly movie!

Well, that just carries me right to the movie Tank with Jim Garner. Lots of good lines, but the best one was when the base commander cited posse comitatus to the local sheriff as to why he could not deploy military troops to chase after Jim Garner in his tank. The sheriff, not the brightest or more ethical bulb, looked dumbfounded and asked, "Did you just call me a Pushy Communist?" Only he didn't say pushy. However, the line might have actually been funnier if it had been Pushy Communist. Later, the sheriff uses the line Pushy Communist, only he didn't say pushy.
My DH *LOVES* this quote from "Live and Let Die:"
State Trooper: Now this fellow's from London England.(Referring to Bond, of course)
He's a Englishman workin' in cooperation with our boys, a sorta... secret agent.
Sheriff J.W. Pepper: Secret AGENT? On WHOSE side?
We've got that movie on DVD and only seen it a gazillion times -- but EVERY time we hear the sheriff say that, we laugh like idiots!!

I have been on this board and only board for over a year now and I must say I love this place. This is my hobby. I come here almost everyday. I may not leave many messages but i have learned so much from you all and thank you all. Now I must say, within the last 4-5 months, I have seen what OP is speaking about. Some members that are new or may have not post many messages speak as if they are better because they have better scores. Some people need a lesson in humility. Some people have left messages of almost belittlement which i have on 1 occasion pointed this out and asked for it to stop. We are all in this together. I know I will continue to be here and I look forward to reading all of your responses and will post mine as well. Thank you all.
