Yep just renew when a new star track season comes out in full for a month then cancel for the rest of the year so only 1 month per year for me usually,
Wait until AmEx has a promo that credits you back 100% for three months of Paramount+ then cancel it again before the fourth month. That's when it's time to catch up on Star Trek.
I usually get it free as trial months and promo codes but right now i think i am at 1.99 per month for two months as no codes were going around other then that. I am so tired so cable and streaming services as they are just as expensive at cable looking at you youtube tv. about to do iptv and take my risks which is slim to none although will sacrifice the ease of use.
There's a hotel near O'Hare that laughs when I walk in because I ask them to hook up my Blu Ray Disc player.
I had a car salesman laugh when I told him that I hooked up my Sony Walkman to either 3.5 mm or bluetooth to play my cassette tapes in modern cars.
I'm not really a big fan of reinventing the wheel. One reason I was an early adopter of Blu Ray is because every Blu Ray player plays DVDs.
I don't see any reason why anything should ever stop working. There's aftermarket repair kits for the Walkman. I've just been replacing a rubber belt on it and cleaning the heads for over 35 years now.
I'm not really into streaming. It's expensive. They dump a lot of crap on it. It's like an all you can eat buffet that has a lot of things you don't want to eat, and maybe 3-4 that are alright. It's like Golden Corral, only if they charged the prices of Eddie Merlot's.
Still catching up on the Survivor library. Tulsa King. Dabbling in MobLand!
We don't have Paramount Plus. We watch a lot of free streaming on our Roku TV, and some of those will often have free episodes of Paramount shows and I watch them when I catch them.
Recently saw the first 3 episodes of Landman. That was great. Billy Bob Thornton was great. Occasionally able to catch parts of a Yellowstone marathon. Won't bother with it post Kevin Costner though...
We don't pay for any streaming other than KET (Kentucky PBS) and that's where I get to watch All Creatures Great and Small and several other shows of that ilk.
Oh, and when the new seasons of Reacher come out, I do start up my Prime Video subscription for a couple of months. Basically binge on Reacher and then anything else for the rest of the time. Then Prime goes back into hibernation.
But really, there's always something to watch for free... So I don't spend a lot on passive watching.
I get Paramount for free.
I get Peacock for free
Sling TV mainly for live sports
Max had special deal for $49 a year
Fox Nation cause Imm too lave to cancel
Nexflix, on the choppiing bock once my special promo expires
Amazon Prime
and if this wasnt enough
Audible.com
We've come a long way from rabbit ears
Capital One gave me a good deal. Spend $13.99 on Peacock and get $20 back. So I subscribed for one month then immediately canceled it. I got $6 more than I spent towards a gift card on Capital One Shopping.
We are enjoying Star Trek Academy.
We also enjoy School Spirits. It's one of those shows that you have to pay close attention to because so much can be packed in one episode so when it's the partner's bed time, we go curl up in bed and watch new episodes together so we don't miss anything sitting in front of other screens.

Star Trek is a staple of this household. We don't go as far as learning Klingon or anything but we do love the shows.

Same. Voyager is my comfort watch. Currently watching Deep Space 9 for the first time after my ex husband didn't think I would like it. I'm enjoying it quite a bit. Guess that's why he's my ex ![]()
I also like the new Matlock with Kathy Bates and Ghosts.

Deep space 9 is good.
Purchased the complete series used on DVD many years ago.
