2020 Gigabyte Aorus 17 X. It's heavy, but well built and for a laptop it's a power hog (10875H, 200W 2080 Super, 32GB ram) . It was my daily driver when I first bought it (july 2020) but since building a desktop in May 2021(5900X, 3090Strix, 32GB) I only use it for fantasy drafts and when I'm visiting family so I can still game. I don't care that much about it being heavy, but requiring 2 power bricks to get full performance out of it can be a PITA sometimes. FWIW I did the Win 11 upgrade with no issues. I'm afraide to do a straight upgrade on my desktop. Seems like Ii proabably need to do a clean install which is going to be a pain

I've been sporting this same old DELL XPS since 2012 and the time has come we must say our goodbyes due to overheating and inability to hold a charge. It's been good to me but I am really out of the game as far as knowing which one to get now. I have never even looked at one since 2012, I was perfectly content. I work in the ER with desktops built into the med-cart or the wall due to theft so there aren't any laptops I can compare to for my quest to find a new one.
I don't need the Cadillac of all laptops but I don't want some Kmart Blue light special either. Suggestions would help, RIP my dinosaur Dell XPS.
For leisure, I'm also sporting the first-gen XPS 13 laptop that had the infinity display and touchscreen (circa 2014-2015). Still holding up processor-wise, but battery doesn't stay charged long. When I decide to replace it, I will likely stay with the equivalent replacement (thin-and-light, display with no bezel, high resolution being priorities). A quick check shows me a XPS 13 Plus that I'd likely customize.
For work I use a MacBook Pro 13 from about 2019, it's due for a replacement soon. I was a little disappointed with this model as it had significantly more problems than previous iterations of MacBook (which I've been using in some incarnation or other since the late 90s). Even then, I will probably do another MacBook Pro.
For $2000, you can get any fantastic Windows laptop. I don't like the Chrome based OS ones personally mainly as Apps can be limited.
I know a tablet was mentioned but keep in mind of touchscreen laptops too. Once you have this handy feature, it is hard to go back...
For home usage, I wouldn't go less than 15 inches.
I exclusively use IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad systems for my laptops for the past 22 years or so. I started on a IBM Thinkpad T23 and have moved up over the years. My main system now is a Lenovo Thinkpad X260 as a perfect combo of awesome.
