Chase branch inside, the new ATMS that give you cash in the denoms you want are too low for my taste, you have to have face down strain on neck, I have to get on my knees everytime I use them. Actually I prefer to go to see a teller at chase banks nice top countertop. I am not a tall guy, maybe 6 ft tall at the most, maybe 5"11.
Who designs these things? Atms outside of banks whethere is a credit union or BOA or Chase all are designed for midgets. Nothing is eye Level. AHHHHHHHH!!
I don't know for sure, but it probably has something to do with ADA compliance.
Speaking of Chase - they have been my bank for decades and now all of a sudden within the last year some of the branches are definitely not consumer oriented. They want you to use the ATM for everything...I feel like they pounce on you to use the ATM rather than the teller.
HAHA I think it is the opposite where I live. I guess they know in Kentucky that everyone has a big truck, so I can never take the WS6 to the ATM. I always try to drive one of the Jeeps so that I am tall enough to reach the buttons.
Not all are. Plus, probably ADA as suggested above.
And what about shower heads in hotel rooms? They are often at shoulder height! Not to mention the strange convention in this country of having coffee tables by your knees. And dining tables by your elbows, leaving little room for your arms and more horizontal than vertical direction from the plate to your mouth. Such encouraged caveman posture is really bad for your digestive system and your health overall. And you're right, the ATMs don't help and are likely to break your back over time!

Proper etiquette is arms are off the tables

I use B of A for most of my banking and I have an account called 'ebanking' where I will be punished for talking with a branch office person about it. I dont recall what the fee is, but I'm thinking 10 IIRC. It does exactly meet my needs though, it is for keeping some of our money separated for a single purpose. When the direct deposit makes it, I take a fixed amount and transfer it into that account for that purpose, and when its gone, wait till next month. As long as no bank error, I wont need to talk to them.
I'm not really tall (5 ft 8) but I do notice I have to 'lean in' to use the ATMs. I just thought it was a security 'feature' to get you squarely into the focus range of the camera.
I dont recall what bank it was, but a few years ago when my Mother lived in South Florida, they had drive up ATMs that were height adjustable and the entire console would move up and down. They were very convenient.
