Just found a killer deal on a new phone and iPad.
iphone 15 pro max free
$0 upfront and $0/mo for the device
$90/mo unlimited plan ($80 w/autopay)
10gen iPad 10.9inch also free
$0 upfront and $0/mo
$20/mo unlimited data ($10 for new customers)
Total due today $112 (sales tax)
total monthly bill $90 w/ autopay
plus a $200 Verizon GC that can be applied to my bill popped up after it sat in the shopping cart for a few minutes
Keep in mind that installment is for 36 months although 0 percent interest.
Metro has a $25 plan and a $20 tablet plan. You can buy a 10.9 and a top of the line 16 Pro Max right now for $1400 with the devices and service totaling $3020 + tax over 36 months vs paying $3400 for the Verizon service and a lesser phone.
If you have a recent iPhone and/or iPad to trade in to Apple, that's hundreds of dollars more savings (potentially many hundreds as an iPhone 13 Pro Max is still fetching $400).
These carriers charge way more than they have to for service so they can offer "free" devices unless you have 3 phone lines or more and upgrade to the best phone you can get every 1-2 years.
Too rich for my blood. We pay $50 out the door per month for three lines. 3% CB with AOD = $48.50/mo.
yea I figured that out after I had made the decision to pull the trigger
0% for 36months
$0 /month after the promotional credits
So basically they have stretched a two year contract into three by making it so I don't actually own the devices until the 36 months is up.
they were a little misleading by saying I was getting $1600 in discount credits today when what they really meant was $1600 over three years.
I had metro for a while and was paying $80/month for a phone and cheap little Alcatel tablet
so after the $200 GC, taxes fees and the auto pay discount I'll end up paying a total of $554 more over the 36 months and getting a much better phone and tablet out of it.
and no more headaches with 2fa codes that refuse to send to a phone on a prepaid carrier
so not the super deal I originally thought it was but I'm stil happy with my purchase
new phone, new iPad and no more 'this number is unable to receive 2fa codes' messages from Wells Fargo and capital one.
worth the extra 15.38/mo
That is the beauty of the family plan.
wireless providers hate us single people.

Yes familes make off a lot better than single folks. I suppose I get 28% off throuhg my work which helps a bit but famlies still make off much better
I guess, but I pay $50 after all taxes for 3 lines. $50 is cheaper than I see a lot of single lines going for. My wife and I are grandfathered in to 2 lines for $50/mo out the door with Metro. Then, along the way, they offered a free third line if we upgraded a phone. Perfect as my then 12 year old was approaching 13 and he wanted his own phone/line when he turned 13. 3 lines for $50 out the door.
Now, what to do when my 11 year old turns 13??? Hmmm.....
I pay $30 for metro. I see multi line deals, but I only need one phone.
What are 2fa codes?

Two factor authentication
I've had problems with both Wells Fargo and capital one being unable to send them to my phone after I switched to a prepaid carrier. Wells didn't like metro and capital one refused to send them to a cricket number
