Many years ago my son enrolled in this crappy online college . He only went for 2 semesters but apparently there was something in the loan papers he signed that said whether he completed or not he would be responsible for the ful 4 years 😳He of course didn't pay this and for several years they were taking his income tax returns 

He got a letter from the department of education stating that he would be getting a substantial refund. I don't know all the details, but has anybody heard of this ?

Thank you . I always thought it was total crap I even urged him not to enroll (but children never listen) . I found it ridiculous to be charged for all 4 years so I glad this is happening .

Yeah a for-profit college forcing students into a 4 year contract is pretty shady, glad that he'll be getting some relief.
