Re: Can I Afford It?

As research has provided the construction industry is going to experience steady growth well into the future. Atchitectural engineers will also be more in demand due to the fact that they are used heavily in the design of structural, electrical and HVAC/plumping systems. All of which require attention in the construction industry. So yes, the possibility to find a better paying job will always be high.

Re: Can I Afford It?

So my rates offered by Wells Fargo were a 4.99% variable, or 7.99 fixed. Since I want to pay the loans quickly it's probably best to do the variable rate right? 5% seems like a pretty good rate, provided that it doesn't shoot up in a few months.

Re: Can I Afford It?

You are going to be fine. Do not worry about what you can't control. Only worry or focus on what you can handle today. Tomorrow will take care of itself.

"Sufficient until the day is the evil thereof..." That means, do NOT worry about what the future holds, since you have more than enough to occupy yourself with inthe present. Do what you know is right, invest in your future and focus on implementing the great plan for your life.

It will all work out. You will pay those student loans off. Have faith in yourself, your abilities and future! You cannot rule out owning your own business or other great financial ventures which can wipe out that debt in no time. I had tens of thousands in student debt, but I made a plalyn, stuck to it, PRAYED unceasingly for divine help and direction, and I paid it off in a matter of months. Months. It took great sacrifice, discipline, determination and the universe to aid me.

STOP fretting over the future. YOu will have the resources and strength to deal with it when it arrives. Enjoy one of the greatest times in your life. Please take to heart my words. This is one of best times in your life. Don't squander it by not taking full advantage of what your talents and planning offer you.

The best is yet to come...seize the moment!

Re: Can I Afford It?

The numbers you're citing are very similar to my own. I graduated with a little over $75k in student loans, roughly 60% of that amount in federal loans. I went with the 25 year graduated option on my federal loans so that I could put as much money as possible toward my private loans. I made over $54k last year and this year will probably be over $60k. My experience has been that this is managable, if you spend you're money wisely. I've even been able to afford an almost $1k/month mortgage and an almost $350/month auto loan. I'm expecting to pay off my first private loan this year, 2 years after I graduated. This loan will be paid off about 13 years ahead of schedule. Hopefully my situation can give you some optimism about what it may be like for you.

Re: Can I Afford It?

Thank you for the responses! That does help ease my mind smith5879! I'm hoping that paying interest while I'm in school of my private loans pays off in the long run!
