My loans are in default and have been so for more than 10 years. Nelnet informed me that I wouldnt qualify for standard consolidation but said I could apply for Income Based Repayment plan so I went ahaed and applied. Fast forward to a couple days ago. I received a denial letter from Nelnet for Income Based Repayment conslolidation due my loans being "Subject to Wage Garnishment/Judgement".
In trying to get these out of default to obtain a mortgage but rehabbing them takes more time than I have.
Does anyone have any idea who I need to contact to get the remarks removed so I can get them consolidated?
By the way they do not show up any of credit reports.
