Figured this was an important one to share, the "beta" version of the federal student loan debt relief application website is now live. Not sure if this will be time limited or anything, but it is crazy smooth right now and it sends a confirmation email.

In case you didn't read it somewhere else already, most folks with student loans held by the Federal government (mostly Direct loans, but also others) can get $10k in loans forgiven or $20k if they received a Pell grant at any point.

Also applied just now and got the confirmation email within probably 15 seconds. Mine would have been automatically processed anyway from my understanding, but maybe this will bump me up in the priority list 😁
Got my email today for the beta version and applied! Received confirmation immediately.

Has anyone seen their loans forgiven yet? I know certain actors are trying their hardest to stop this forgiveness from taking effect. But to me, it seems like everything is already in motion. Just curious if anyone has gotten further along in the process yet.
I'm unaware of anyone who has received the Debt Relief payments - those are on hold. I personally know someone who did qualify for the PSLF and she got over $100,000 in student loans forgiven. She'd been paying since the early 2000s. There is an active Reddit thread devoted to PSLF and Student Loans. There are many cases reported there.

The earliest would have been the 23rd, but I'm pretty sure an appeal came in and the processing (of payments, not applications) was put on hold "indefinitely". I realistically don't expect anything to happen to my balance before Thanksgiving at the earliest.
