Is this how a student loan normally reports?

I recently acquired a private student loan through Chase, and it just started showing up on my credit report (only Transunion so far). Under loan type, it says unsecured and it also does not mention my deferrment. Is this normal?

I thought it would say that it was an educational loan and also mention that it is deferred, so other creditors do not think this is a normal loan that must be repaid immediately. Hopefully it is not reporting incorrectly.

Re: Is this how a student loan normally reports?

No experience with deferrals and mine is a consolidated stafford loan but is listed as loan type = Note Loan, and Account Type = Installment Loan. I have read deferments could show up as deferred but I've also read they can show up as paid as agreed. And even if marked deferred, it can still affect the credit score and creditors may still consider it for DTI, etc.

I am thinking of apping for a private loan from chase but i have limited credit history. What were your scores when you applied or did you have any credit at all as a student? Did you have to have a cosigner? How long did it take for themto disburse the funds to you?
