Okay, so I am relatively new to rebuilding and working on cleaning up my credit report. I am looking at my student loans and noticed two tradelines on every one of my CRs that appear to be duplicates. Navient SL, nothing is different on the two tradelines, they are identical. I did not rehab and I don't know why the exact same loan is reporting twice. It is reporting as Closed, as I consolidated all of my SL debt with Great Lakes in 2016. I do have lates on both, with the last occurring in 11/2015.
Do I dispute the duplicate with the CRA? Or is this accurate reporting to have the exact same loan as seperate tradelines reporting the exact same thing? I don't remember if the loan is federal or private, I assume federal. SL opened in 07/2009 with Navient. Someone please help me understand!
I would do the dispute on the CRAs, it is very easy to do and can complete all three in less than 15 mins.
Ok, so after some sleuthing, I have discovered that one is subsidized and one is unsubsidized. So they likely are reporting correctly. Except that the account numbers are not consistent across the 3 CRAs. Some are reporting as the exact same number, same balances and everything. Some are reporting account numbers that differ. I logged in to navient and cannot see an individual account number on each of the two loans. I have no clue where to go next.
