I would recommend that you thoroughly read their Terms of your contract.

If it requires you to make monthly payments at a set amount each month, than you are required to do so to keep

from defaulting on your terms even thought you are paid ahead.

My daughter had a similar situation and she is paid ahead and wanted to skip a payment. After reviewing her

contract she would be delinquent if she failed to make her monthly payment as required.

Don't get yourself caught up on tricky statements that you are paid ahead.

This is good advice as no one should make assumptions with student loans, however, in the OP's case the statements and online account clearly say the next due date is well into the future. That language is cannot be mistaken.

I agree in part as to what you stated, However, you should also understand that Statements and

on line account information that indicates you are paid ahead does not necessary mean that you

may skip a payment as outline in your original Terms & Conditions.

I would highly recommend that you contact the Creditor to ascertain if skipping payments is an option.

Also, remember you are paying interest on the balance.

Just my 2-cents.

If the due date keeps getting pushed forward, you need to call the lender and verify that the payments are not being applied to future interest.  Verify the extra payments are going to the principal.
