Private Student Loan that offers In-School Deferment?

add me to the list of former students who say 'wells fargo can suck it'

my wife's private student loans have been sold 4 times and currently are with wells fargo.  she's going to finish up her BA starting this spring, and WF does not offer in-school deferment on private loans.  does anyone have experience with private lenders which do offer deferment?

i found out that sallie offers in-school deferments only on private loans they originate, but not on consolidations.

Who was the original lender for this private student loan and what were their terms?  If the original terms of the private student loan included in school deferment, then WF would have to honor that.

How long ago was the original loan dispursed?  Most lenders will only allow you to have "deferment" for 4.5 to 5 years.  So, if the loan was dispursed longer ago than that, it would be in a mandatory repayment period.

I have a wells fargo financial private student loan. You can print off an inschool deferrment form from the web, send it to the school and have them send back to you. Then call wells fargo and ask for thier fax number and fax it to them. Then call them 2 days later to see if they have gotten the fax. Also, you can have the school update the clearinghouse and have wells fargo recheck it. If that doesnt work, then send an official class schedule to wells fargo and a letter from the current professor to prove you are a current student. Worked for me.

SallieMae definitely...mine is in deferrment and I am in school part-time. Just pay the interest regularly while in deferment.
