My gf has a student loan that is now with ACS, but the original owner was Panhandle Plains SLC.
Her mom was making the payments for her a couple of years ago, because her parents said they would take care of it. Well, it turns out she missed a couple of payments in 2008 because she thought we were making them
(Her parents are pretty sporadic with how they pay their bills; we should have known better)
At any rate, this is now on my gf's credit reports, and it's her only delinquency, & it's annoying the crap out of me ![]()
I don't know who to GW though! I don't know if PPSLC will still have her records, and I'm worried that ACS will say, Well, that was before it got to us...
What to do? It's a single 60 day late from 2008.
Just a few clarifying questions.
Was the loan actually sold to ACS (not transferred because of deliquency?)
Do you recall which company it was with when the late occurred? Is the late being reported by both companies or just ACS?

yes, it was actually sold, quite some time after the delinquency.
it was still with panhandle plains. i don't recall, without all the different types of reports in front of me, if ACS is reporting or not. i want to say no....hmmm.
Yeah, I am thinking it may be best to try to GW the old company. Hopefully the credit report has an account number or something up there that can be referenced. It will likely take a few tries. Hopefully that other company is still in business.
ok, that's what i was thinking. thanks!
